Research Focus/Background:

Tracy Carter joined the Chemical Engineering Department in January 2011. She received her M.S. and B.S. degrees in chemical engineering from Northeastern University. Tracy has been active in several Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) initiatives over the past 10 years. She co-authored a NASA grant for Stimulating Teachers in Academic Research through Space (STARS). The program was designed to expose teachers to cutting-edge scientific research destined for International Space Station. She has also spent several years working on National Science Foundation Grants with 4 Schools for Women In Engineering and STEM Fellows, developing STEM curriculum for public middle and high school students in order to prepare them for future careers in science, technology, engineering & mathematics. In addition to developing curriculum, she trained teachers on the curriculum, and spent time in the classroom supporting those activities.
