Koppes wins Tier 1 Award
Congratulations to ChE Assistant Professor Ryan Koppes on his FY20 Tier 1 Grant for his work on "Mu-Opioid and CB1 receptor signaling interactions in pain perception" in collaboration with Research Associate Professor Leigh Plant from Pharmaceutical Sciences.
"TIER 1 Seed Grant/Proof of Concept Program awards are supported by the Colleges and the Senior Vice Provost for Research. This competitive program makes grants of up to $50,000 to support and encourage individual faculty members to form multidisciplinary teams to develop new and innovative research directions, with a goal of successfully competing for future sponsored research opportunities..."Since the program’s inception in FY12, TIER 1 teams have reported that their awards have led to more than 350 publications and over $60 million in follow-on funding (on an investment of $7.5M), a 700% return on investment" (Karen Smith Drew, CFRE - Director of Research Development and Strategic Projects).
